D. Jake Roberts, Guest Speaker
I’m happy and joy-filled. I love people and love what I get to do. Though semi-retired, work weeks are still filled with 40/50 hours of teaching, preaching and investing in faithful men. The primary ministry track also includes discipling men 1-on-1 and smaller groups of men (6-10). 20 years of serving Monument Bible Church as senior pastor, and 12 years now as associate pastor has opened doors to serve other pastors and hurting people needing to be comforted through deaths, broken relationships, troubles and addictions. Our charge from Jesus is to tend His lambs and feed His sheep which has made for a deep and fulfilling ministry. I’m also a banjo-picker who really enjoys the Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder tune, 'Hallelujah, I'm Ready to Go'." When visiting my family a son said of my request to have it played while the casket was being wheeled out, “Aw dad, that’s OK. You won’t be here anyway, so we’ll just do whatever we wish.” Right!
